After 3 months of cold temperatures, dark mornings, cold water and cold, gale force storms, Spring is here! It finally feels like the Cape of Good Hope rather than the Cape of Storms. Wildflowers are spreading like fire across the mountains. The unique vegetation here is called FYNBOS- trees, shrubs, needle leafed long plants, protea flowers, pin cushions. Pungent and spicy. The sun wakes me up before 6 am in a blaze of orange and pink. The water glints and clouds sit low on top the mountains across the bay.
When your life changes, your art changes. I have started doing vintage style posters of Kalk Bay, this place I love so much. But I want to paint ;and the paintings in my mind look totally new. I am not set up at all to paint but I am going to make it work.
